Who is this qualification for?
This qualification is designed for those learners to enable them to work safely and recognise and deal with hazards in the workplace. It also provides learners/employees with knowledge of the health and safety practices essential in the workplace.

HABC Level 2 Award in Moving People Safely (QCF)
HABC Level 2 Award in Safe Moving and Handling (QCF)
Who is this qualification for?
This qualification is aimed at anyone involved in the movement and assistance of people and is intended as a further development qualification. It is also suitable as refresher training.This is underpinned by the safe principles of moving and handling but recognises the special skills required when assisting and moving people.
Assessment method
This qualification is assessed by multiple-choice examinations and practical assessments.
HABC Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (QCF)
Who is this qualification for?
This qualification is aimed at learners who wish to become emergency first-aiders in the workplace. This qualification meets the requirements for training emergency first-aiders in those organisations that have identified that staff need to be trained to this level within their first-aid needs assessment.
How long will it take?
To complete this qualification learners should expect to undertake 8 hours of learning, with a minimum contact time, excluding breaks of 6 hours typically over 1 day.
Topics covered
These include the role and responsibilities of a first aider, being able to manage an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally, being able to manage a casualty with external bleeding and being able to manage a casualty with a minor injury.
Assessment method
This qualification is assessed by a practical demonstration and written/oral questioning.
HABC Level 2 Award in Awareness of Dementia (QCF)
Who is this qualification for?
It is aimed at learners looking to further their skills and knowledge and to gain a qualification in dementia awareness.
How long will it take?
To complete this qualification, learners should expect to undertake approximately 72 hours of learning.
Topics covered
These include Dementia Awareness, the person centred approach to the care and support of individuals with dementia, the factors that can influence communication and interaction with individuals who have dementia and the importance of equality, diversity and inclusion in dementia care.
Assessment method
This qualification is assessed by a portfolio of evidence.
HABC Level 2 Award in the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (QCF)
Who is this qualification for?
This qualification is aimed at individuals who work in an environment where coming into contact with hazardous substances is likely. This includes workplaces in areas such as manufacturing, cleaning, healthcare, transport, utilities and office environments.
How long will it take?
To complete this qualification learners should expect to undertake 5 hours of learning.
Topics covered
These include the law relating to hazardous substances in the workplace, how risk assessments contribute to the safe use of hazardous substances in the workplace and the precautions and procedures necessary to ensure that risks associated with hazardous substances are properly controlled.
